Irony at its best?

Its kinda sad when he is adamant to veto a bill for healthcare for children which calls for spending $60 million over the next 5 years, but then turns around to ask the congress for $46 million in spending to be spend over this fiscal year? I mean seriously, there has nothing been done to help the public manage access to better healthcare but yet we spend 3 times as much of the taxpayers money for stuff abroad!

President Bush challenged Congress to another clash over the direction of the Iraq war yesterday as he asked lawmakers for $46 billion more to pay for overseas military operations and insisted that they approve it by the end of the year....

New throne speech out.

I listened to the Governor-General read out the new throne speech, it will be interesting to see how things unfold in the next week. Do we really need to have another parliamentary election in less that 4 years? And at what cost? Elections Canada said that the last set of elections cost the tax payer $300 million dollars. So do we really need to waste another ~$350million in less that 5 years on a fresh set of elections because of the Prime Minister's pursuit for power?
